Six months FREE parking in Salisbury
Six months FREE parking in Salisbury

“The Conservatives voted down a temporary suspension of parking charges to help Salisbury get back on its feet. Vote Labour to support our local businesses”.

Labour Councillor Ricky Rogers called for the suspension of parking charges following the Salisbury Novichok Poisoning to help our city recover, the Conservatives said No but following support for Ricky’s call from local businesses and the general public the Conservatives caved-in and the free parking did indeed help re-build footfall.

Now, campaigning Labour Council Candidates are calling for 6 months Free Parking when the green light is given to re-open our City Shops and Businesses following the Covid-19 Lockdown Restrictions to again help build back footfall into our City.

There is a well-established belief in Trowbridge that Salisbury parking charges should be much higher than anywhere else in the County. It is a fact that Salisbury has one third of the car parking spaces in the County, but pays two thirds of all car parking income into the County’s coffers. The word milch cow comes to mind.

Labour Councillors will continue to campaign to reverse this in balance.
