Hi I'm Ricky your City and County Councillor for Fisherton and Bemerton Village
First Elected in 1987, I know my way round local government! Being Leader of the Labour Group at Wiltshire Council for many years I have seen a decline in the level of service that Wiltshire Council delivers to the residents of Wiltshire, especially in areas around youth services and adult care.
Youth services have historically suffered cuts and the consequences of that for both the individuals involved and society have been devastating. I was influential in securing the Sound Emporium at the Bunker in Harnham, when youth services were closed down in Grosvenor House Salisbury.
I am a founder and director of Bemerton Heath Harliquins Sports and Social Club which provides, not only football for youngsters and adults, but a social club for the community.
In 1995-1996 I was Mayor of Salisbury and raised in excess of £50,000.00 for the Mobile Life Education Centre which toured schools in Wiltshire, advising young people of life skills and the dangers of drugs.
